SPE 519 - Methods I: Cognitive and Behavioral Teaching for Exceptional Individuals Credit Hours: 4 This course equips teacher candidates with evidence-based strategies for planning, delivering, and assessing instruction for students with mild to moderate cross-categorical disabilities. Emphasizing cognitive and behavioral teaching methods, it covers instructional planning, differentiated learning, content literacy, and transition processes. Students learn to design and implement effective instructional strategies, integrate data-driven decision-making, and foster positive learning outcomes. May be taught concurrently with SPE 619. Cannot receive credit for both SPE 519 and SPE 619.
Prerequisite: SPE 310 and SPE 345 and SPE 346 ; and admitted to Teacher Education. Lecture contact hours: 4
