EDU 998 - Dissertation Hours


Credit Hours: 1-6

This course is designed to guide EdD students through the process of completing a doctoral dissertation. Students will be expected to conduct original research that aligns with their professional goals and interests. Aspects of the research process will require students to identify a research topic, develop a research question, design a study, collect and analyze data, and present findings. Throughout the course, students will receive guidance and support from their dissertation advisor and will participate in regular meetings with their dissertation committee. Students will also engage in peer review and discussion to gain feedback and support for their research. By the end of the course, students will have completed a substantial portion of their dissertation and will have developed the skills and knowledge necessary to complete their dissertation and defend it successfully. The course will prepare students to contribute to the field of education through original research and scholarship. Students are required to complete 12 dissertation hours over the course of their EdD. A maximum of four Leader Scholar Community (LSC) hours may count toward the minimum of 12 required hours for dissertation.

Prerequisite: must be admitted to the EdD Program.
