EDU 915 - History and Philosophy of Education Credit Hours: 3
Education of human beings has a long, troubling, challenging, and intriguing past-and we have much to learn from it. Students explore how current understandings of education are situated in the much larger context of educational ideas-from ancient civilizations until today. The course explores questions such as: What is the purpose of education? What is the role of public schooling? How does education respond to/and challenge social needs and understandings
Prerequisite: must be admitted to the EdD Program. Lecture Contact Hours: 3
