BIO 641 - Coastal Vegetation Credit Hours: 2
A broad study of the general and specific aspects of coastal vegetation, with emphasis on local examples. Vegetational composition, variation, succession, climax, and distribution. Includes aerial techniques, plant identification, delineation of vegetational types and mapping. Must be taken at the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, Ocean Springs, Mississippi. May be taught concurrently with BIO 534. Cannot receive credit for both BIO 534 and BIO 641.
Prerequisite: 10 hours of biology and permission of advisor or department head. Recommended Prerequisite: general biology I and II courses.
