LLT 321 - Comparative Mythology Credit Hours: 3 Comparison of the ancient myths of Greece, Rome, Northern Europe, Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Far East, and the Americas. Readings are taken from ancient sources and modern interpretation. Lectures, discussion and writing assignments will deal with major deities and heroes, the ancient mystery religions and creation epics, with emphasis on cultural background borrowings, common structures of myth, and methods of interpretation.
