UHC 399 - Honors Internship/Apprenticeship Credit Hours: 3 This course provides students with the opportunity to obtain practical and theoretical knowledge in a variety of career fields through the completion of a supervised internship experience. Students are expected to complete 45 hours of work with an approved organization and to complete corresponding academic reflection projects under the supervision of a departmental faculty member. Students should consult with a faculty member of the department who specializes in the subject and with the faculty member’s consent present a written proposal to the department head and the Honors College for final approval. Proposals should be presented for approval before final registration for the semester in which the internship is to be done. Only one approved internship may be taken in any semester. When appropriate, this course may be cross-listed with undergraduate internship courses in other academic departments. May be repeated.
Prerequisite: permission of supervising instructor, the Honors College and the host institution; open to Honors College members only. Lecture contact hours: 3
