HST 422 - Supervised Teaching (Secondary Social Studies) Credit Hours: 5-10 Student observes then teaches social studies classes under the direction of the cooperating teacher and the university supervisor. Student participates in school-related activities appropriate to the assignment and attends all required meetings. Only students seeking secondary social studies certification may enroll in this course. In order to receive a grade in this course, the student’s professional portfolio must meet or exceed final criteria. Course will not count toward the major GPA.
Prerequisite: HST 199 and HST 418 ; and C grade or better in all professional education courses; and minimum GPA of 3.00 Social Sciences; and current pre-professional liability insurance; and approval for supervised teaching; and concurrent enrollment in HST 423 . Corequisite: HST 423 Typically offered: Fall, Spring
