ELE 440 - Classroom Management and Assessment in the Elementary Classroom Credit Hours: 2 Planning, constructing, using, and analyzing a variety of assessment practices to support reflective decision making in the elementary classroom. Theoretical foundations of current approaches and application of best practices in classroom management including management of time, space, transactions and activities effectively with an emphasis on approaches to prevent and/or manage disruptive behavior. A 30 hour field experience in area school classrooms is required as a part of this course.
Prerequisite: concurrent enrollment in ELE 429 and/or ELE 434 and/or ELE 438 ; and admitted to Teacher Education. Lecture contact hours: 1 Lab contact hours: 2
