COM 490 - Supervised Teaching (Secondary Speech and Theatre) Credit Hours: 6 Student observes then teaches speech and theatre classes under the direction of the cooperating teacher and the university supervisor. Student participates in school-related activities appropriate to the assignment and attends all required meetings. In order to receive a grade in this course, the student’s professional portfolio must meet or exceed final criteria. Cannot count toward the major GPA. Identical with THE 490 . Cannot receive credit for both COM 490 and THE 490 .
Prerequisite: COM 417 ; and a C grade or better in all professional education courses; and current pre-professional liability insurance; and approval for supervised teaching; and concurrent enrollment in COM 491 . Corequisite: COM 491 Typically offered: Fall, Spring
