BMS 563 - Human Work Physiology Credit Hours: 3 Review of cellular metabolism, energy transfer, and oxygen transport during work; excitation-contraction coupling in skeletal muscle; physiological mechanisms of fatigue; neuroendocrine regulation of metabolism and other responses to work; environmental factors in work performance. Emphasis on molecular and cellular mechanisms and contemporary research. May be taught concurrently with BMS 663. Cannot receive credit for both BMS 563 and BMS 663.
Prerequisite: C grade or better in BMS 308 ; or C grade or better in BMS 442 and concurrent enrollment in BMS 542 . Lecture contact hours: 3
