BMS 231 - Human Genetics with Laboratory Credit Hours: 4 A survey of genetic principles in humans with emphasis on molecular genetics and human genetic abnormalities causing diseases and behavioral changes. A portion of the course requires students to research, report on, and discuss current topics in human genetics. The laboratory emphasis is on techniques and skills that expand the understanding of genetic concepts. Cannot receive credit for both BMS 230 and BMS 231.
Prerequisite: C grade or better in BMS 110 and BMS 111 or in BIO 121 ; and eligibility for MTH 134 or MTH 136 ; and Biomedical Sciences or Clinical Laboratory Science-Medical Technology major or Biomedical Sciences minor. Lecture contact hours: 3 Lab contact hours: 2
