AGS 485 - Companion Animal Management and Behavior Credit Hours: 3 Students will learn how an understanding of innate and learned behaviors in dogs and cats can be applied in shelter and breeding settings. Students will learn the fundamentals of socialization periods, behavioral assessments, and training. Students will learn to assess environmental factors that lead to behavior issues and apply this knowledge to improving environments and providing enrichment in facilities that house dogs and cats. Students will gain an understanding of how behavior affects the human-animal bond.
