ELE 440 - Classroom Management: Cultivating Positive Classroom Culture Credit Hours: 2 This classroom management course prepares future elementary educators to design and sustain classroom environments where all students feel valued, supported, and able to thrive. Emphasizing the whole child, students will explore equitable approaches to classroom culture, trauma-informed education, relational teaching, and restorative practices. Through theory, reflection, and practical application, candidates will develop skills in building community, establishing supportive routines, and responding to student needs in ways that are developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with strategies to create humanizing and inclusive learning spaces that foster belonging, resilience, and academic success.
Prerequisite: concurrent enrollment in ELE 500 . Corequisite: ELE 500 Lecture contact hours: 1 Lab contact hours: 2
