Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration - Hospitality Leadership (BS)

Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree with a major in Poultry Science (University of Arkansas-Fayetteville)

This program will provide an educational pathway leading to a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Animal Science from Missouri State University and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree with a major in Poultry Science from University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.

Students considering this program should consult with their advisor in the Department of Animal Science.

To be eligible to apply to this transfer degree program at University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, students must:

  1. Declare the Animal Science major at Missouri State University
  2. Successfully complete a preapproved block of required courses within the major with a grade of C or better in all courses.
  3. Complete Missouri State coursework with a minimum 2.75 GPA.
  4. Submit an official Missouri State University transcript with final grades to University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.

Students will complete a minimum of 30 hours at University of Arkansas-Fayetteville to complete their Missouri State University Animal Science major. The Missouri State University policy that require students to complete 20 out of the last 30 hours at MSU will be automatically waived.

To be eligible for graduation at Missouri State University, students must:

  1. Complete all Missouri State University general education and general baccalaureate degree requirements.
  2. Apply to graduate at Missouri State University during their last semester at University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.
  3. Submit a final transcript to Missouri State University for transfer evaluation and verification of degree requirements.

Pre-Professional Curriculum in Veterinary Medicine

Students considering the Pre-Veterinary Program should consult with the Pre-Veterinary advisor in the College of Agriculture. Learn more: Pre-Veterinary Program

Option I: To be eligible to apply to the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri, a minimum of 64 hours must be completed including the following courses:

  1. CHM 160 (4), CHM 161 (1), CHM 170 (3), CHM 171 (1), CHM 201 (3), CHM 202 (2), CHM 352 (3).
  2. COM 115 (3); ENG 110 (3); MTH 138 (5) or MTH 136 (3) and MTH 137 (3); PHY 123 (4) and PHY 124 (4).
  3. 10 hours of biological sciences: BIO 212 (2) and BIO 213 (1); and BIO 380 (5) are recommended.
  4. Additional 10 hours of coursework in the social sciences and humanities.

Option II: By completing this option of approximately 100 hours, a student may apply for a BS degree with a major in Animal Science from Missouri State University after successfully completing the first two years in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

  1. General Education Requirements (45 hours)
  2. Science and Mathematics Requirements (38-47 hours): BIO 212 (2) and BIO 213 (1); or BIO 312 (3) and BIO 313 (2), BIO 380 (5); CHM 160 (4),*CHM 161 (1),*CHM 170 (3), CHM 171 (1), CHM 201 (3), CHM 202 (2), and CHM 352 (3); MTH 138 (5)* or MTH 136 (3)* and MTH 137 (3)*; and PHY 123 (4)* and PHY 124 (4).
  3. Agriculture Requirements (32 hours): AGS 101 (3), AGS 102 (1), AGS 301 (3), AGS 302 (3) or AGS 306 (3), AGS 311 (3), AGS 316 (3) and AGS 511 (3); AGN 115 (3) or AGP 103 (3); AGN 215 (3); AGB 144 (4); AGR 330 (3).

*May count toward General Education requirements.
