CFD 353 - Childhood Illnesses, Injuries, Diseases and Disorders Credit Hours: 3 This course provides an overview of the common childhood illnesses, injuries, diseases, and disorders for psychosocial support staff who work in the healthcare field. Students will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to work with diverse pediatric populations, including children with special needs and children who have experienced trauma. Additional pediatric topics include: cystic fibrosis, cancer, diabetes, sickle cell disease, traumatic brain injury, congenital heart deformities, psychiatric diagnoses, and gastrointestinal diseases.
