AGE 658 - Instructional Methods in Agricultural Education Credit Hours: 3
Prepares preservice agricultural education teachers to design and deliver effective, student-centered instruction in agricultural science classrooms. Through a combination of classroom instruction, microteaching, and field-based observation, students will learn to plan and implement engaging lessons that connect agricultural content to real-world contexts. Emphasis is placed on inquiry-based, problem-based, and experiential learning strategies that promote critical thinking, collaboration and skill development. The required 45-hour practicum provides authentic opportunities to observe and participate in secondary agricultural education programs. A C grade or better is required in this course in order to take AGE 493 or AGE 494. May be taught concurrently with AGE 458. Cannot receive credit for both AGE 458 and AGE 658.
Prerequisite: SEC 302 and AGE 318 and AGE 418; and teacher certification students must be admitted to Teacher Education. Lecture Contact Hours: 3
