SPE 497 - Practicum in Special Education Credit Hours: 1-4 Students will apply skills from introductory and specialized courses in special education settings with identified students diagnosed with disabilities. Students will be supported in implementing high leverage methods of instruction and strategies as well as collaborating with the university faculty, mentor, and other practicum students to reflect on experiences. Competencies in development of academic, social, and behavioral lesson plans, Individual Education Programs (IEPs), Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) transition plans, parent/family communications, and implementation of evidence-based practices. A minimum of 120 field experience hours will be required.
Prerequisite: admission to Teacher Education. Typically offered: Fall, Spring
