SPR 491 - Sport and Recreation Administration Internship Credit Hours: 8 or 12 Supervised field experience which provides the student with an opportunity to make the transition from the classroom to actual involvement in a sport and recreation agency. In addition to the 10-to-15-week involvement, students are required to (l) meet with the Sport and Recreation Administration internship coordinator during the preceding semester to secure an internship site and clarify internship responsibilities, and (2) complete and submit assignments online during the internship. Internships taken in the summer semester will result in 8 credit hours (400 hrs.) and internships taken in a fall or spring term will result in 12 credit hours (600 hrs.) Public Affairs Capstone Experience course.
Prerequisite: complete all other coursework (including General Education Program, major(s), minors(s), if applicable, and all general baccalaureate degree requirements); and cumulative Missouri State GPA of at least 2.20; and first-aid and CPR competency met and maintained current throughout internship; and permission of internship coordinator. Typically offered: Fall, Spring, Summer
